I am a full time PhD student at Newcastle University under the supervision of Dr. Paul Langley of Durham University, Professor Jane Pollard and Professor Danny MacKinnon of Curds at Newcastle University.

My ESRC funded project examines the re-conceptualisation of “social utility” in the UK banking system through an analysis of the debt-credit relation, with a specific emphasis on current attempts to increase social utility by non-governmental actors. The research will focus on the debates surrounding the theory and practice of money, debt and banking, with primary research carried out in collaboration with the Finance Innovation Lab.

This blog will be a place to hold my ideas, as a way to test them on audiences and receive feedback, and as a personal chronicle to chart my journey through my PhD. I will write about books I have read, conversations had and things seen.

Enjoy, if you love geeky, political, finance things.
